My little brother
My brother was my hero. He was a 
honest, humble, trustworthy and loyal man. I miss him everyday and wish it was me instead of him. He was only 22 and hadn't yet lived life to the fulliest. I know God had a better plan for him but it leaves me asking why? I know you are not supposed to question God but in times like these it is hard not too. In time maybe I will feel at peace with this but as of right not...Not So Much! Not only did we loose my brother but we are loosing my Grandma in her battle with cancer. She stopped eating on Sunday and my Aunt and Grandpa are taking her to the hospital today to make her comfortable. I don't know how much more I can handle. My friends keep talling me God doesn't put more on your plate then you can handle. But I really think he is testing me at this very moment! Please pray for me and my family that we might find some kind of peace and comfort during this time of misery. They are much needed in everyway possible. ~Lindye Dowden~

ABILENE - Catlin Mackenzie May, 22, died Saturday, Feb. 12, 2011, in Fort Stewart, Ga.
Services will be at 2 p.m. Monday in Elmwood Funeral Home Chapel in Abilene. Burial will be in Elmwood Memorial Park.
Catlin was born March 25, 1988, in Wichita Falls. He graduated in 2007 from Amarillo High School, where he was a member of the football team.
Catlin became a soldier in the U.S. Army on July 27, 2007, and had recently returned from his first tour in Iraq. He was a 13 field artillery/forward observer and was a member of the HHC-27 Infantry 1st Brigade FSGA. His awards included two Army Accommodation Medals, Army Service Ribbon, Overseas Ribbon, Good Conduct Medal, National Defense Medal and Global War on Terrorism Medal. While in the Army, he had won several awards in various strong-man competitions.
Catlin loved life, and he loved his family very much. He enjoyed all things outdoors, including hunting and fishing.
Survivors include his mother, Steffanye Baxley of Abilene; four sisters, Jamye Rogers, Tracye Joyner and husband Alex, and Lindye Dowden and husband Buddy, all of Abilene, and Tiffanye Boydston and husband Greg of Allison; a brother, Thomas May and wife Prisha of Merkel; his grandparents, Rick and Linda Boyett of Weatherford; two uncles, Eric Rowden of Vega and Austin Boyett of White Settlement; an aunt, Laurye Stewart and husband Rob of Vega; five nieces; and seven nephews.
The family suggests memorials be to American Cancer Society, 3915 S. Bell St., Amarillo, TX 79109.
Visitation will be from 6 to 8 p.m. Sunday at the funeral home.
